Argentine Lignum Nenox Style WA Handle for Gyuto / Yanagiba

Many are familiar with Genuine Lignum Vitae due to its renowned hardness and density, historically utilized for mechanical components. However, Argentine Lignum Vitae (Bulnesia sarmientoi) serves as an exceptional alternative, distinguished by its unique feathered grain pattern and pleasant herbal fragrance. Remarkably, its pale yellow tones gracefully transform into captivating shades of olive and emerald green when exposed to direct sunlight. Inspired by the acclaimed Nenox Western handle, this Wa-style design features a distinctive curved rear end, seamlessly combining visual elegance with ergonomic comfort—ideal for traditional Japanese knives.

This is how the handle will look like when installed with a knfie: a 210mm Gyuto with a corresponding handle from the series.

    Japanese Knife Handle Removal

We often need to remove the handle from a traditional Japanese kitchen knife (comes with a WA handle).
Usually there are two ways of doing so:
    1. Knocking the handle off the knife, applies to handles that are burnt-in the knife. Typically a ho-wood handle.
    2. Heading the knife at 80 Celsius / 180 Farenthide, between 10 to 20 minutes, and pull the handle away from the knife. This method applies to knives with handles glued in using hot melt glue (Epoxyed handles do not apply). Many hardwood handles in Japan uses hot melt glue
