Pau Rosa Nenox Style WA Handle for Santoku / Bunka / Nakiri

Pau Rosa is a strikingly beautiful tropical wood known for its captivating range of colors, from rich chocolate browns to vibrant Padauk-like reds, oranges, yellows, and even purples, depending on its region of origin. This dense timber exhibits wavy or interlocked grain patterns and a moderately coarse texture, yet remains easy to work, turning, gluing, and finishing exceptionally well. Inspired by the acclaimed Nenox Western handle, this Wa-style design boasts a distinctive curved rear end, combining aesthetic elegance with ergonomic comfort, making it the perfect complement for traditional Japanese knives.

This is how the handle will look like when installed with a knfie: a 210mm Gyuto with a corresponding handle from the series.

    Japanese Knife Handle Removal

We often need to remove the handle from a traditional Japanese kitchen knife (comes with a WA handle).
Usually there are two ways of doing so:
    1. Knocking the handle off the knife, applies to handles that are burnt-in the knife. Typically a ho-wood handle.
    2. Heading the knife at 80 Celsius / 180 Farenthide, between 10 to 20 minutes, and pull the handle away from the knife. This method applies to knives with handles glued in using hot melt glue (Epoxyed handles do not apply). Many hardwood handles in Japan uses hot melt glue
